Abstract

Regional expansion is closely related to economic growth. West Lampung's economic growth after regional expansion experienced ups and downs. The expansion of the West Lampung Regency region resulted in changes in the regional economy which were influenced by regional expenditure (PD), population (JP), Human Development Index (HDI) in West Lampung Regency. This research aims to determine the effect of regional expansion on the economic growth of West Lampung Regency by analyzing the influence of PD, JP, HDI and how economic growth in West Lampung Regency is viewed from an Islamic economic perspective. The type and source of data uses a quantitative approach with secondary data, namely in the form of time series data with a period of 6 years starting from 2016-2022. The research variables consist of independent variables, namely Regional Expenditure (X1), Population (X2), Human Development Index (X3). Testing using the F test shows that the third variable has a significant effect on economic growth in West Lampung Regency with a significant value of 0.000 < 0.05. This research shows that there is no difference in the economic growth of West Lampung Regency before and after expansion because there was no increase in GRDP. Islam views that the economic growth of West Lampung Regency has not been optimal because the economic growth of West Lampung Regency has not been accompanied by an increase in GRDP.
