IMPLEMENTASI GAYA KEPEMIMPINAN SITUASIONAL KEPALA SEKOLAH DI SDN 1 KETAPANG

Abstrak

This study describes the application of situational leadership style by the principal in dealing with face-to-face learning. The success of a school can be measured by the effectiveness of the principal's leadership during his/her tenure, because his/her role is considered as the main driver in school dynamics. Situational leadership style is an approach in which leaders adjust their leadership style based on the level of readiness and competence of subordinates and the situation faced. In the context of education, principals apply this leadership style by choosing the most appropriate approach for each situation in order to improve school effectiveness and performance. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method. The subjects of the study included the principal, teachers, and staff of SDN 1 Ketapang, totaling seven people. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman technique, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results of this study reveal that: (1) The Principal applies situational leadership in embracing all parties to carry out his duties as telling, selling, participating, delegating, (2) Supporting factors for the implementation of the principal's leadership in the form of direction and motivation to teachers, employees, being fair about what must be done, (3) The impact of the implementation of the principal's situational leadership style can view the level of ability and maturity possessed by teachers, employees by providing instructions, directions related to tasks so that the principal can assess how much teachers and employees are responsible for their duties.
