Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of school principal supervision in improving the performance of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers at SMPIT Al Ihsan Wahdah Islamiyah Bantaeng in the 2024/2025 academic year. Supervision is a vital component of educational management that encourages teachers to continuously enhance their competence in lesson planning, implementation, and assessment. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings show that supervision was systematically carried out through both academic and administrative supervision. The principal provided direct guidance, evaluations, and constructive feedback to PAI teachers. The impact of this supervision was evident in the improvement of teachers' pedagogical competence, better quality of Islamic Education learning, and the development of reflective attitudes and professional behavior. Although challenges such as limited time and underutilization of technology were found, the principal maintained consistent supervision practices. This study recommends strengthening principal training in supervision and developing a digital-based supervision system for greater efficiency and accountability.
