Abstract

This study aims to explore the efforts made by teachers in instilling independence in children by fostering self-confidence through role-playing methods at TK Islam Terpadu Mazaya School Perlanaan. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data was collected through interviews with teachers, observations of role-playing activities, and documentation. The results show that the role-playing method is effective in instilling independence in children by providing opportunities for imagination, decision-making, and responsibility for the roles played. Additionally, this activity also enhances children's self-confidence, as they are given opportunities to speak in front of their peers and take on leadership roles. Teachers play an essential role in creating a supportive environment by allowing freedom in role selection and providing positive reinforcement. However, challenges faced include children who tend to be shy and time limitations to fully implement the activity. Overall, this study demonstrates that role-playing can be an effective strategy for developing independence and self-confidence in early childhood
