This study aims to analyze madrasa education management in Indonesia within the context of the relationship between tradition and modernization. The focus of the research is directed toward the efforts of madrasas to maintain their Islamic identity while integrating modern educational elements that are relevant to contemporary developments. The research employed a qualitative approach using library research methods through the analysis of various scientific sources, journals, books, and previous studies related to madrasa education management. The findings indicate that madrasas continue to preserve Islamic educational traditions through strengthening religious-based curricula such as the Qur'an, hadith, fiqh, and Arabic language studies. At the same time, madrasas have begun adopting educational modernization by integrating general sciences, learning technologies, and 21st-century skills development. The leadership of madrasa principals plays a strategic role in managing change and harmonizing traditional values with modern educational innovations. In addition, the development of human resources, particularly teacher professionalism, is an important factor in improving the quality of learning. The study also found that limited funding, facilities, and infrastructure remain major challenges in implementing educational modernization in madrasas. Therefore, an adaptive, visionary, and integrative madrasa education management model is needed to combine religious values with technological advancement so that madrasas remain relevant, competitive, and capable of contributing optimally to national education without losing their Islamic identity.
