Abstract

This study is a qualitative research aimed at examining the efforts of teachers in enhancing students’ learning motivation in the subject of Fiqh. Data were collected using several methods, including observation, in-depth interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using triangulation, which involved data reduction, data presentation, and verification, thereby providing a thorough and accurate understanding of the phenomenon under study.

The results of the study indicate that teachers employ various strategies to increase students’ learning motivation, such as giving praise, rewards, quizzes, and the application of educationally constructive punishments. These strategies have proven effective in encouraging students to be more active and diligent in their learning, which positively impacts the improvement of their academic achievement. High learning motivation also reflects increased emotional engagement and interest of students in the subject of Fiqh.

This research was conducted at the Pondok Pesantren Salafiyah Wustha Equivalency Education program, with a study population consisting of 25 ninth-grade students. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for teachers in designing effective teaching strategies to enhance students’ motivation and academic performance, particularly within the context of religious education.
