This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education in shaping students’ noble character (akhlakul karimah) at the junior high school level. Islamic Religious Education has an important position in the process of character and moral development of students, especially during adolescence as a stage toward maturity. Through Islamic Religious Education learning, students are expected to understand, appreciate, and practice Islamic values in their daily lives so that noble character can be developed. This research employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of Islamic Religious Education teachers, students, and school staff. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing to obtain an overview of the role of Islamic Religious Education in shaping students’ noble character. The results showed that Islamic Religious Education has a significant role in shaping students’ noble character through classroom learning, religious habituation, teacher role modeling, and religious activities within the school environment. Values such as discipline, politeness, responsibility, honesty, and mutual respect were gradually developed through continuous learning and guidance. Islamic Religious Education teachers acted as educators, mentors, and role models in instilling moral values in students. However, several obstacles in shaping students’ noble character were also identified, such as peer environmental influences, inappropriate use of social media, and lack of parental supervision. Therefore, cooperation between schools, teachers, and parents is needed to ensure that noble moral values can be consistently practiced in students’ daily lives.
