Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of academic supervision in improving the quality of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning. Academic supervision is understood as a guidance process carried out by school principals or supervisors to teachers in order to improve the learning process, including planning, implementation, and evaluation. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving school principals, Islamic education teachers, and related stakeholders. Data analysis was conducted interactively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that academic supervision is implemented through planning activities, classroom observation, and follow-up coaching for teachers. The implementation of academic supervision has a positive impact on improving the quality of Islamic education learning, particularly in more structured lesson planning, more varied teaching methods, and improved interaction between teachers and students. However, there are still challenges such as limited supervision time and suboptimal follow-up activities.
