Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of principals’ managerial competence on the effectiveness of educational management in Madrasah Aliyah. Managerial competence refers to the ability of school principals to plan, organize, implement, and evaluate all educational resources effectively and efficiently. In the context of Madrasah Aliyah, this competence plays a crucial role in determining the success of quality educational management. This research employed a quantitative approach using a descriptive correlational method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to teachers as respondents, supported by observation and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using correlation and simple regression tests to determine the influence of principals’ managerial competence on the effectiveness of educational management. The results show that there is a positive and significant influence of managerial competence on the effectiveness of educational management in Madrasah Aliyah. The higher the managerial competence of the principal, the more effective the educational management becomes, particularly in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating educational activities. However, several obstacles were identified, such as limited human resources, differences in managerial understanding, and suboptimal coordination among school members. Therefore, improving principals’ managerial competence is essential to enhance the effectiveness of educational management in madrasahs.
