Implementasi Metode Pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dalam Membentuk Karakter Religius Siswa

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning methods in shaping students’ religious character at school. The formation of religious character is one of the important goals of Islamic education because it plays a role in developing students’ attitudes, behavior, and morals in accordance with Islamic values. In the learning process, Islamic Religious Education teachers have a strategic role in implementing effective learning methods so that religious values can be understood and applied by students in their daily lives. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation involving Islamic Religious Education teachers, students, and school authorities as research subjects. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of Islamic Religious Education learning methods was carried out through lectures, discussions, role modeling, habituation, demonstrations, and direct worship practices. The application of these methods was able to improve students’ understanding of religious values and shape religious character such as discipline in worship, politeness, responsibility, honesty, and social awareness. In addition, support from the school environment and teachers’ role modeling became important factors in the success of shaping students’ religious character. The inhibiting factors in the implementation of Islamic Religious Education learning include the lack of awareness among some students, the influence of the external environment, and limited learning time. Therefore, the implementation of Islamic Religious Education learning methods has an important role in shaping students’ religious character and supporting the creation of a generation with noble morals.
