IMPLEMENTASI PEMBELAJARAN DIFERENSIASI PADA MATA PELAJARAN PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA
Abstract
This study aims to describe the implementation of differentiated learning in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and analyze its effect on improving student learning outcomes. Differentiated learning is a pedagogical approach that adjusts content, process, and learning products based on the diversity of students' learning profiles, readiness, and interests. In the PAI context, this approach offers a solution to classroom heterogeneity challenges that often hinder learning effectiveness. The study used a mixed-method approach with sequential explanatory design, conducted at four State Junior High Schools (SMP Negeri) in Pekanbaru City involving 168 students as quantitative research subjects and 24 informants in qualitative exploration. Results show that differentiated learning implementation significantly improved PAI learning outcomes in all three domains — cognitive (t = 8.431; p < 0.001), affective (t = 6.782; p < 0.001), and psychomotor (t = 7.214; p < 0.001). The highest improvement occurred in the affective dimension covering religious attitudes and Islamic value appreciation.
