This study aims to analyze the role of STEM-based science learning (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) in improving students’ scientific literacy and problem-solving skills. The research employed a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were collected from various scientific sources, including national and international journal articles, books, conference proceedings, theses, dissertations, and other academic documents relevant to the research topic. Data collection was conducted through documentation techniques, while data analysis utilized content analysis involving data reduction, categorization, interpretation, and synthesis. The findings indicate that STEM-based science learning enhances students’ scientific literacy through the development of scientific conceptual understanding, scientific thinking skills, technology utilization, scientific communication, and the application of science in everyday life. Furthermore, STEM learning significantly improves students’ problem-solving skills through the enhancement of critical thinking, creative thinking, collaboration, engineering design processes, and evidence-based decision making. The study concludes that STEM-based science learning is an effective approach for simultaneously developing scientific literacy and problem-solving skills, making it highly relevant for 21st-century education.
