This study aims to analyze the relevance of classical organizational theory to the effectiveness of madrasah leadership and governance from an Islamic educational management perspective. This study is motivated by the need for madrasahs to develop effective governance systems amidst the dynamics of educational change, while maintaining Islamic values as the foundation of institutional management. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted at a madrasah aliyah (Islamic senior high school). The research informants consisted of the madrasah principal, vice-principal, teachers, educational staff, and madrasah committee members selected using purposive and snowball sampling techniques. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation, method triangulation, member checking, and audit trails. Data analysis employed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which includes data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results of this study indicate that classical organizational theory remains relevant in supporting the effectiveness of madrasa leadership and governance through five main themes: a clear organizational structure as a foundation for governance, a division of labor that supports effective performance, the leadership of the madrasah principal as the center of organizational coordination, bureaucracy and administration as instruments of accountability, and the integration of Islamic values in the implementation of classical organizational principles. These findings demonstrate that classical organizational principles can be contextually adapted in Islamic educational environments by strengthening the values of trust, deliberation, justice, and collective responsibility. This research contributes to the development of Islamic educational management studies by confirming that the effectiveness of madrasa leadership and governance is determined not only by the structural aspects of the organization but also by the integration of Islamic values into managerial practices
