Child marriage remains a significant social and legal issue in many countries, including Indonesia. This study aims to explore the causes, legal perspectives, and social impacts of child marriage, particularly focusing on girls under the age of 18. Using a qualitative research approach, data were collected through interviews with affected families, community leaders, and legal authorities. The study also analyzes existing laws and regulations concerning child marriage, including the Marriage Law No. 16 of 2019, which raises the minimum age of marriage for girls to 19 years. The findings indicate that child marriage is influenced by multiple factors, including economic pressures, cultural traditions, lack of education, and inadequate parental supervision. Additionally, the consequences of child marriage include interruption of education, increased health risks, and psychological stress for the child. The study emphasizes the need for a comprehensive approach involving law enforcement, community education, and family empowerment to prevent child marriage and protect children’s rights.
