The phenomenon of career women in Muslim families is a growing social reality alongside increasing access to education and employment opportunities for women. The presence of career women often creates particular dynamics within the household, especially regarding the fulfillment of rights and obligations between husband and wife. From the perspective of Islamic law, the issue of women working outside the home is not merely related to permissibility, but also concerns the balance between domestic responsibilities, professional obligations, and the principles of justice and family welfare. This study aims to analyze the rights and obligations of career women in Muslim families from the perspective of Islamic law, focusing on a case study in Gadingrejo District, Pringsewu Regency, Lampung. This research employs a qualitative method with a juridical-empirical approach. Data were collected through interviews with career women, husbands, religious leaders, and community figures, supported by documentation and a review of classical and contemporary Islamic jurisprudence literature. The findings reveal that the implementation of rights and obligations of career women in Gadingrejo District is generally carried out in a flexible and cooperative manner. Career women strive to fulfill their domestic responsibilities, while husbands demonstrate involvement in household tasks as a form of partnership. However, normative views that place a double burden on women are still found, potentially leading to role imbalance. From the perspective of Islamic law, women are permitted to work provided that they obtain their husband’s consent, comply with Islamic principles, and do not neglect their primary family responsibilities. The principles of deliberation, justice, and partnership (mubādalah) serve as essential foundations for maintaining harmony in Muslim families with career women.
