PERSPEKTIF PARA KIAI DAN TOKOH MASYARAKAT TERHADAP HUBUNGAN SEJENIS ANALISIS DI PASAR TENGAH BANDAR LAMPUNG

Abstrak

Same-sex relationships have become a growing social phenomenon that generates diverse responses within Indonesian society, which is deeply rooted in religious values and cultural norms. The presence of same-sex practices in public spaces, including Pasar Tengah Bandar Lampung as a central hub of economic and social interaction, creates complex social dynamics that deserve academic attention. This study aims to examine the perspectives of kiai and community leaders regarding same-sex relationships in the Pasar Tengah area of Bandar Lampung and to explore the religious, social, and cultural foundations underlying their views. This research employs a qualitative method using sociological and normative-religious approaches. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with kiai, religious figures, and community leaders, supported by observation and documentation. The findings indicate that most kiai and community leaders perceive same-sex relationships as contrary to Islamic teachings, social norms, and moral values upheld by society. These views are primarily based on the Qur’an, Hadith, and the consensus of Islamic scholars that clearly prohibit same-sex practices. Nevertheless, the study also reveals perspectives that emphasize a persuasive and humane approach, highlighting the importance of da’wah, moral guidance, and preventive efforts through religious and family education. In conclusion, although rejection of same-sex relationships is firmly rooted in normative religious principles, kiai and community leaders advocate for wise, dialogical, and moral-oriented approaches in addressing this phenomenon within society.
