This study examines the effectiveness of audio-visual (AV) media in improving listening skills and memory retention among early childhood students at SPS Kenanga Kupang Teba, Bandar Lampung. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining pre-test and post-test experiments with teacher interviews. Participants included 30 children aged 4-6, divided into an experimental group (AV-based learning) and a control group (conventional methods). Results indicated that the experimental group showed significant improvement in auditory processing and memory retention compared to the control group. Qualitative analysis revealed that AV media enhanced children’s learning motivation and engagement. However, challenges such as limited technological infrastructure and the need for teacher training were identified. The findings support dual-coding theory (Paivio, 1986) and multimedia learning principles (Mayer, 2009), affirming that combined audio-visual stimuli strengthen cognitive processing. Practical recommendations include developing locally tailored AV content and providing teacher training in educational technology integration.
