Abstract

This study aims to analyze the optimization of the talaqqi method in the Qur'anic memorization learning process at MTs Al-Amin Loktuan Bontang during the 2024/2025 academic year. The talaqqi method is a classical approach to Qur’anic memorization that emphasizes direct interaction between teacher and student. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the talaqqi method effectively improves students’ memorization skills, enhances recitation accuracy, and fosters discipline and responsibility in learning. However, its implementation faces several challenges, including limited teaching staff, restricted learning time, and varying student abilities. To overcome these challenges, the school implemented optimization strategies such as tahfidz teacher training, small group divisions, flexible memorization schedules, and parent involvement. Therefore, the optimization of the talaqqi method is proven to enhance students’ memorization achievements and strengthen their religious character
