This study aims to analyze the management model of Islamic boarding schools in increasing the independence of students. The main focus of the study is the strategies implemented by Islamic boarding schools in building independent character, including aspects of education, skills, and management of daily life of students. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection was carried out through direct observation, in-depth interviews with Islamic boarding school caretakers, students, and alumni, and analysis of documentation of Islamic boarding school management policies. The data analysis technique used the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which involves data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that Islamic boarding schools implement a management model based on Islamic values that emphasize discipline, responsibility, and independence. The main strategies used include the habituation of independent work, student entrepreneurship programs, and a dormitory-based education pattern that instills the values of discipline and independence in daily life. Supporting factors for the success of this model include the strong role of kyai and caretakers in providing examples, as well as an education system that integrates theory and direct practice. An effective pesantren management model in increasing the independence of students at the Al Amin Islamic Boarding School in Bagan Keladi Village is one that combines academic learning, skills training, and character development based on Islamic values. Therefore, this model can be used as a reference for other Islamic educational institutions in forming a generation of students who are independent and ready to face the challenges of life.
