Abstract

This study aims to develop an effective learning media in the form of a counting apron for teaching counting skills to children aged 5-6 years at RA Muslimat NU Kandang, Comal District, Pemalang Regency. The counting apron media is designed to be interactive and enjoyable, equipped with numbers and counting objects that children can manipulate directly. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D), including stages of needs analysis, design, expert validation, revision, and field testing. The sample consisted of early childhood learners at RA Muslimat NU Kandang. Data were collected through observation, interviews, validation questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The results showed that the counting apron media is highly feasible with high validation scores from experts and teachers. Field testing indicated a significant improvement in children’s counting abilities after using the media. The counting apron is also practical and engaging, enhancing children’s motivation to learn. In conclusion, the counting apron media is effective in supporting counting learning for early childhood and can serve as an innovative alternative learning media in early childhood education institutions.
