Abstract
This study aims to analyze the pedagogical competence of kindergarten teachers in the learning process at TK Negeri Pembina 7, Battu Winangun Village, Lubuk Raja District, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, during the 2024/2025 academic year. Pedagogical competence refers to teachers’ ability to understand learners’ characteristics, design, implement, and evaluate learning activities to create meaningful learning experiences for early childhood education. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving teachers, the principal, and instructional documents. The data analysis used Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing.
The findings revealed that teachers at TK Negeri Pembina 7 have demonstrated a good understanding of children’s characteristics and have implemented appropriate learning strategies according to their developmental stages. Lesson plans were developed in accordance with the early childhood curriculum, though improvements are still needed in terms of creativity and innovation in learning activities. The learning process was active, joyful, and child-centered, while evaluation was conducted through observation and child development portfolios. Overall, teachers’ pedagogical competence was categorized as good, but continuous improvement is necessary through training, professional mentoring, and the use of more innovative learning media.
