Abstract

Internalizing the value of religious moderation in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning is an important effort in facing the challenges of intolerance, radicalism, and the negative influence of digital technology development in the modern era. PAI learning is not only oriented towards delivering religious material, but also plays a role in shaping the character of students who are tolerant, inclusive, and able to live harmoniously amidst a diverse society. This study aims to analyze the internalization of the value of religious moderation in PAI learning and its implications for the formation of students' religious character. The method used is a qualitative research approach with a literature review approach (library research), through the analysis of various scientific literature sources relevant to the research topic in recent years. The results show that internalizing the value of religious moderation in PAI learning can shape attitudes of tawasuth (moderation), tasamuh (tolerance), tawazun (balance), and i'tidal (justice) in students. In addition, the application of the value of religious moderation has also been proven to increase mutual respect, open-mindedness, and prevent the development of extremism and intolerance in the educational environment. In conclusion, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning based on the internalization of religious moderation values is effective in shaping students' religious character to be moderate, tolerant, and adaptive to the challenges of the digital era.
