Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of pesantren pedagogical traditions with modern educational innovations in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning and to formulate a reconstructed PAI learning model that preserves the values and identity of Islamic education. This study employed a qualitative approach using library research. Data were obtained from relevant scholarly journal articles, academic books, and other academic sources published within the last five years. The data were analyzed through literature selection, thematic analysis, comparison of previous research findings, identification of research gaps, and conceptual synthesis. The findings indicate that pesantren traditions, including sorogan, bandongan, halaqah, musyawarah, teacher role modeling, and habituation, are relevant to modern innovations such as personalized learning, collaborative learning, blended learning, project-based learning, and digital learning resources. These forms of integration can be implemented in learning objectives, materials, methods, media, teacher-student interaction, and assessment while considering teacher competence, student readiness, infrastructure, and pesantren culture. Conclusion: The reconstruction of PAI learning through the integration of pesantren traditions and modern educational innovations can provide an adaptive, contextual, and innovative learning approach while preserving Islamic values, character, etiquette, and educational identity.
