Abstrak

This research aims to describe the teacher's efforts in increasing students' learning motivation in the Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqih) subject for Grade XI at MTs Al Ikhwan Cihea Haurwangi, Cianjur Regency, West Java, in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. This study was prompted by the low learning motivation observed among several students, as indicated by their passive attitude, lack of interest in the material, and minimal active participation in class activities. The research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the Fiqih teacher and Grade XI students. The findings reveal that the teacher applied various strategic efforts to improve students' motivation, including the implementation of active learning methods, the use of visual and digital media, the provision of positive reinforcement, personal approaches to students, and contextualizing the subject matter with everyday life. Supporting factors for these efforts include a conducive learning environment, institutional support, and good interpersonal relationships between teachers and students. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include limited educational facilities and unsupportive family backgrounds. The study concludes that the teacher’s efforts significantly influence the enhancement of students' learning motivation. Varied teaching strategies and a humanistic approach have proven effective in encouraging students to be more active, confident, and enthusiastic in participating in Fiqih learning activities
