This research aims to describe and analyze the efforts of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) teachers in fostering students' character at SDN Penampakan Lawe Bulan, Southeast Aceh, during the 2024/2025 academic year. The study is based on the importance of moral education from an early age as a foundational element in shaping the character of young generations. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included IRE teachers, the principal, and students. The findings reveal that the IRE teacher implements character development through various strategies, including value-based Islamic instruction, daily religious practices, exemplary behavior, and personalized mentoring for students with behavioral challenges. Religious activities such as congregational dhuha prayer, Islamic holiday commemorations, and Qur’an memorization extracurriculars play a supportive role in shaping students’ moral and religious attitudes. Despite obstacles such as environmental influences and limited parental involvement, the teacher remains committed to optimal character guidance. This study confirms that the role of IRE teachers is crucial in shaping student character in primary schools and requires collaborative support from all stakeholders to ensure sustainable results.
