KEPEMIMPINAN KEPALA SEKOLAH BERDASARKAN KECERDASAN EMOSIONAL (EQ) DI PONDOK PESANTREN PUTRI ASHHABUL QUR'AN SITUJUAH GADANG KABUPATEN LIMA PULUH KOTA

Abstrak

This study aims to describe the principal's leadership based on emotional intelligence (Emotional Quotient/EQ) at the Ashhabul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School for Girls, Situjuh Gadang, Lima Puluh Kota Regency. The research method uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that the principal applies five aspects of emotional intelligence, namely self-awareness, self-control, motivation, empathy, and social skills in managing the institution. The implementation of EQ has a significant influence in creating a conducive learning environment, improving student discipline, and strengthening harmonious relationships between the principal, teachers, and students. This study confirms that emotional intelligence is an important component in modern educational leadership, especially in Islamic boarding schools that emphasize educational character and morals. Emotional Intelligence is one perspective that is able to analyze the leadership of a Principal. The purpose of this study is to examine the leadership of the principal based on the emotional intelligence possessed. The principal's leadership based on emotional intelligence is considered excellent. This has a positive impact on the sustainability of the organization's foundation. This research is a qualitative, descriptive study that will describe and illustrate the research data using data triangulation analysis. The results found that the principal of the Ashhabul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School for Girls' Leadership is very good in implementing primal leadership.
