The creativity of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers at a public vocational high school in Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau, plays an important role in improving students’ motivation and learning outcomes. These creative efforts are implemented through various innovations in the teaching and learning process, such as the selection and application of diverse teaching methods, the use of learning media that are relevant to the subject matter, and the implementation of regular evaluations to measure students’ level of understanding of the material that has been taught.
In addition, the improvement of students’ learning motivation is also supported by teachers’ strategies in creating a more engaging and competitive learning environment. Teachers provide objective and fair assessment, give rewards or prizes to high-achieving students, and foster a healthy competitive atmosphere in the classroom so that students are encouraged to improve their academic performance. Teachers also routinely conduct tests after each topic is completed, communicate test results to students as a form of feedback, and give praise to students who show improvement or good achievement.
With this creativity, students become more motivated to learn actively and continuously. This has an impact on improving learning outcomes, which can be seen from cognitive (knowledge), affective (attitude), and psychomotor (skills) aspects. These three aspects are reflected in students’ report card grades, which show improvement after the implementation of creative teaching strategies by PAI teachers.
Overall, the creativity of PAI teachers not only contributes to improving academic achievement but also helps shape positive attitudes, discipline, and students’ skills in the learning process. Thus, innovation in teaching is an important factor in creating better quality education in schools.
