STRATEGI KEPEMIMPINAN KEPALA SEKOLAH BERBASIS KECERDASAN EMOSI (EQ) DALAM MENINGKATKAN KUALITAS PENDIDIKAN

Abstrak

This study aims to analyze the principal's leadership strategy based on emotional intelligence (EQ) in efforts to improve the quality of education. Emotional intelligence is the leader's ability to manage their own emotions and those of others, which includes self-awareness, self-management, motivation, empathy, and social skills. The method used is a systematic literature review by analyzing various relevant previous studies published in the period 2020–2025. The results of the study show that principals with high EQ are able to build a positive school climate, increase teacher work motivation, strengthen organizational communication, and encourage improvement in student academic achievement. Effective EQ-based leadership strategies include the application of transformational leadership, building an inclusive school culture, constructive conflict management, and continuous teacher empowerment. These findings confirm that EQ is not just a complement to leadership, but the main foundation in creating an excellent and sustainable educational ecosystem.
