Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to ISTIBSHAR: Journal of Islamic Education and Learning undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to guarantee scientific rigor, impartiality, and excellence.

Peer Review Stages:

  1. Initial Desk Review: The Section Editor screens the manuscript for thematic relevance to the journal's focus and scope, adherence to author guidelines, and similarity check (Turnitin threshold ≤ 20%). Non-compliant submissions are rejected or returned for technical formatting.
  2. Double-Blind Review: Qualified manuscripts are assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers. Identities of authors and reviewers remain strictly concealed from both parties throughout the evaluation.
  3. Editorial Decision: Synthesizing the reviewers' evaluative reports, the Editorial Board renders one of the following decisions:
    • Accept Submission: The manuscript is accepted as presented or subject to minor typographical proofing.
    • Revisions Required: Minor conceptual or stylistic amendments are required, subject to editorial verification.
    • Resubmit for Review: Major substantive revisions are essential, followed by a second round of peer review.
    • Decline Submission: The manuscript is rejected due to fundamental conceptual or methodological insufficiencies.
  4. Copyediting & Galley Production: Accepted manuscripts proceed to language copyediting, typesetting proofing, and Crossref DOI registration prior to final electronic publication.
