Abstract

This study aims to describe the efforts of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in fostering students’ prayer practices at MTs Al Furqon Cilegon, Banten. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that PAI teachers implement various strategies, including providing exemplary conduct in worship, encouraging students to perform obligatory and voluntary prayers regularly, guiding students in proper ablution and prayer procedures, and integrating prayer-related values into teaching and learning activities. Teachers also conduct supervision and periodic evaluation of students’ prayer performance, both at school and at home, through a prayer monitoring system. Observations indicate improved discipline, enhanced understanding of prayer procedures, and increased religious awareness among students following the implementation of the program. The study concludes that the structured and consistent efforts of PAI teachers significantly contribute to improving the quality of students’ prayer practices at MTs Al Furqon Cilegon, Banten.
